The Winterlings
Saturday May 6, 8:00 pm

With songs as vivid as feature films, Indie Folk duo The Winterlings take listeners on unexpected journeys soaring with astronauts, hitchhiking in Alaska, and fighting beside a female Civil War soldier. Featuring male and female lead vocal and harmonies, guitar, violin, banjitar and drums, The Winterlings build bonfires of sound to dance and dream beside.

Sheryl Wiser, Michael J. Ashe & Lava
Friday, May 12, 8:00 pm

It’s going to be a gorgeous night of song, story, soaring harmonies and plenty of guitar picking with singer/songwriters Michael Ashe, Sheryl Wiser and Lava, featuring Rich Brisbois and Chelsea Carothers.

We’re going old school, which means an evening of songwriters in the round, kicking back and swapping songs.

The Black Dog is one of the finest little venues around for an intimate and cozy evening of music, with plenty of room for all ages, plus terrific food and local brews.

Suggested donation is $10.
We will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the International Rescue Committee
for their work in support of Syrian citizens and refugees.

Edison & Maxwell Hughes (formerly of the lumineers)
Live at The Black Dog

Thursday, May 25, 7:30 pm Edisonsinger/guitarist Sarah Slaton, drummer/vocalist/trumpeter/mandolinist Dustin Morris, and Grammy nominated guitarist Maxwell Hughes (formerly of The Lumineers)is a dynamic acoustic trio from Colorado which has quickly emerged as a unique musical force.

Edison’s liltingly melodic, emotionally resonant songs are filled with vivid storytelling, playful harmonies, and irresistible hooks.
Although they’ve only been a band since 2014, they’ve already built a substantial national fan base, thanks to the their upbeat, high-energy live shows and tireless touring efforts.  In addition to countless club gigs, they’ve earned attention at such music-industry conferences as SXSW, CMJ and Folk Alliance International.
